Financial Statements include optional cover page, compilation/review report, balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement and schedules.
Entries (Collapsible)
Entries include beginning balances, journal entries, s, amortization journal entries and reclassifying entries. The Cash Flow dashboard is used to generate current-year and prior-year comparative Statements of Cash Flows. The Accounting dashboard is the central hub of accounting functions which offers several tools to assist with trial balance work including account history, , drilldown and a multi-function account tag.
The Amortization dashboard creates journal entries based upon loan metrics, prints monthly and annual amortization schedules, and is integrated with management which maintains loan amortization source documents in a permanent file.
Modeling and Budgeting (Collapsible)
Use the Financial Ratios dashboard to generate a variety of performance, liquidity and leverage ratios for clients. The dashboard includes a Financial Ratios, presentation ready, report with customized notes.
The Pro-Forma dashboard generates 5-year projections and variance data based upon any of the last 5-years of client data. Pro-Forma's are based upon 27-, in 3-categories, i.e. Default Metrics, Account Metrics and Events. The metrics are carried over from year to year for re-use and/or variance reporting.
BalanceWare Enabled Excel Workbooks (Collapsible)
Create an Excel workbook with a BalanceWare ribbon tab containing a BalanceWare formula builder wizard. The formula builder exposes client data within the workbook, for additional reports, such as notes to financial statements. The workbooks can also be used for account analysis.
Department Dashboard (Collapsible)
This dashboard produces financial statements based upon account number structure, using either account number delineators or character positions.
Reclassifying Entries
An , interactive dashboard is used to record reclassifying entries. The dashboard includes a dynamic trial balance, in conjunction with data entry with a interface.
Statement Writer Dashboard (Collapsible)
A format-flexible statement designer for balance sheets, income statements, cash flows, statement of retained earnings, departments, divisions, schedules, etc.
Imports and Exports (Collapsible)
- Export Trial Balance - Exports the trial balance to Excel
- Import Beginning Balances - imports beginning balances from Excel. Adds accounts to the chart of accounts as needed and updates existing accounts.
- Import Beginning Balances from a QuickBooks Desktop Trial Balance Report saved as an Excel file.
- Import Beginning Balances from a QuickBooks Desktop Trial Balance Report saved as a CSV file.
- Import Beginning Balances From a QuickBooks Online Adjusted Trial Balance saved as an Excel file.
- Export any financial statement to RTF format (Word compatible)
Notes & Attachments (Collapsible)
Use the Engagement Documentation dashboard to associate client s and notes with objects in BalanceWare.
Notes and documents can be linked to the following items (on a per client basis):
- Any journal entry (no icon, double click on preparer notes instead)
- Any cash disbursement batch (no icon, double click on preparer notes instead)
- Any other (using the Documents button from the Client tab)
- Any BalanceWare form (using the icon, below)
Look for the Engagement Documentation icon on BalanceWare forms.
Clicking the icon will open the Engagement Documentation dashboard. In the case of journal entries and cash disbursement batches, double-clicking on the Preparer Notes field accomplishes the same. Once open, click on any attachment to open the document.

See the Review Notes button on the Client Tab for reviewing notes from all sources within BalanceWare.
Note: to maintain link integrity, do not manage documents from Windows Explorer. Moving or deleting client documents may break links. Documents can be edited and documents can be added using Windows Explorer, but do not delete or move documents or folders. Broken links will be placed in a special folder in the Documents treeview called "Orphans" and can be relinked from this special folder.
New with BalanceWare version 2.308 is the ability to add notes to individual accounts. Simply open the Engagement Documentation dashboard from any form, document, journal entry, or cash disbursement batch and select an account at the bottom of the report.
All notes and attachments for forms, documents, journal entries, cash disbursement batches, and accounts can be reviewed and edited from the Client tab by selecting Review Notes.
